We are excited to join the Jersey City creative community with the launch of a new Project Studios location at 98 Forrest St. in Bergen-Lafayette. It’s official, we are now in Jersey City for real!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 8000 sq. ft. facility will house our Metal Sculpture Studio as well as a suite of individual studios for visual artists. It is also very likely that our kiln-formed glass<\/a> shop will transition to Jersey City in 2025. Our Clay Studio<\/a> will remain in Hoboken along with our other shops and studios at the Neumann Leathers factory complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Project<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The new studio facility occupies the entire 3rd floor of the Seydel building at 98 Forrest Street, a former textile warehouse. It has been a long and challenging process to locate and lease a suitable building with concrete construction, adequate power, space, and scale. On the high seas of northern New Jersey real estate, you have to keep watch for safe harbors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building amenities include: central air-conditioning, dedicated freight elevator, rooftop access, Wi-Fi, and free parking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Metal Sculpture Studio<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Metal Sculpture Studio has moved from Hoboken and is now in Jersey City. The shop features several welding machines for GTAW, GMAW, PAC, and FCAW processes with supporting equipment for cutting, bending, and finishing. The new shop will be part of our visual art studio membership ecosystem, details forthcoming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Studios<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Project Studios Jersey City will include a suite of individual studios for visual artists as well as some critique and exhibition space. At this time, there is a plan to have a mix of private and semi-private studios, similar to our offerings in Hoboken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because the primary shop in Jersey City is optimized for metal sculpture fabrication, art studios that orbit the shop will be ideal for sculptors, but all visual art media are welcome. At this time, all music rehearsal spaces will remain at our Hoboken location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Individual studio spaces will range in size from 200 sq. ft. to 700 sq. ft.. Each studio will have at least one window with a steel entry door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
