Friday, April 26th, 2013

The second show in the Proto Preview Series, Princesses and Patsies: Madness, Murder, and other Mayhem, opens May 10 at 6:00 PM and runs through Sunday, June 2.

Follow Proto on Facebook. The Proto site is not finished yet, so Facebook is where all the activity is happening. We are also basically live-blogging the development of the gallery as we take it from a Hurricane-damaged debris pile to a functional commercial venue for contemporary art.

The old studio is dead. It just simply could not be renovated to a satisfactory condition. May it rot in peace.

I have decided that I need more space. My previous studio will be available for May.

The studio is 1100 sq. ft. on the ground floor of Neumann. It is a good studio for sculpture or similar work. I am looking for an artist, not somebody who wants to run a welding service or cabinet shop, but I would consider it it if the company does creative work. Access is 24 hours and the back door to the studio will allow for big materials to go in and out.

Physical Studio Features:

1100 sq. ft.
Concrete floors
Brick and cement walls with some sheetrock
No windows
Florescent and spot lighting with switches
12 ft. ceiling
Front and back door (back door is a sliding factory door that opens to a garage space with an overhead door)
Numerous grounded electrical sockets with a few 20A circuits
Two-way exhaust/intake fan
220V single phase power in a new panel with 100A capacity

Additional Features:

Wifi is included
Security cameras record the interior of the space. This can be kept or removed.
Modifications or improvements can be made to the space such as a wider front door, etc..
All utilities are included
